plan on getting this helmet, but i found different models, i guess? just want to know why the "newer" 2009 one is way cheaper than the "older" 2008 one. what are the differences other than the design..?

Answer No, the Snell certification is not overkill, and it doesn't make them "harder"....It was designed and engineered for a reason. The ECE standard is simply an import/export certification. The DOT certification could be passed by a football helmet
