    Auto Racing Capsules: Ambrose returns to site of last years blunder Brownsville Herald

    Site: Sonoma, California

    Schedule: Friday practice (speed, 3-4:30 pm), qualifying (Speed, 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.) Saturday practice (speed, 2:30-17:00) Sunday, race, 15 pm (TNT, 2-6:30 pm).

    Track: Infineon Raceway (road course, 1.99 miles).

    The race distance: 218.9 miles, 110 laps.

    Last year: Jimmie Johnson won for the first time on a road circuit, taking advantage of Marcos Ambrose gaffe. Ambrose lost his head when he stalled his engine trying to keep the gas under caution with six laps left. He restarted seventh and finished sixth.

    Last week: Denny Hamlin raced to his first win of the year, holding off Matt Kenseth, Michigan International Speedway. Joe Gibbs Racing driver also won the race in June 2010 on the track.
