Riding A Motorbike

I’m turning 17 next week, and basically I’d like to start riding at least a 125 without any restrictions. I’ve had a moped provisional license since I turned 16 but never did anything with it. Surely i won’t have to apply and pay for a new license, deeming that one completely useless?
