    Motorcyclist killed in crash IDd

    A man who died in a motorcycle wreck in western Bexar County has been identified.

    John Kirby, 52, was killed when he apparently drove through a red light about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Texas 211 and Potranco Road.

    Bexar County sheriff's Sgt. E.M. Conger said Kirby was traveling east on Potranco when the light turned green for traffic on Texas 211.

    Kirby's Harley Davidson motorcycle crashed into a pickup that was traveling on 211.

    Witnesses told officials the motorcycle “didn't even slow down” when it crashed into the truck as it drove through the intersection, Conger said.

    The pickup driver wasn't seriously hurt.

    Kirby wasn't wearing a helmet. He was taken to University Hospital , where he died from his injuries about 11 a.m.

    Alcohol and speed weren't immediately thought to be factors.
