Having started their championship campaign brightly against the Shelmaliers, our Junior footballers were handed a short, sharp reality check on Saturday evening last as they went down heavily (1-12 to 0-4) at the hands of Rathgarogue-cushinstown.
Cushinstown were by far the better team and dominated all aspects of the game as we struggled to find any rhythm or consistency in our play. The lads will know that they can play better than this and hopefully things will improve as the season goes on.
On a brighter note, our Under-16 footballers and hurlers had a good week with respective wins over Forth and Bargy Gaels (4-5 to 1-11) and Geraldine O'hanrahans (4-6 to 2-6).
Thanks to Monageer-boolavogue and Davidstown-courtnacuddy who hosted two very competitive practices matches last week for our Under-12 footballers and Under-10 hurlers respectively.
